Directions to The Country House below are from Montville and the Bruce Highway Northbound
The Country House at Hunchy is an easy 20 minute drive from the Sunshine Coast Airport and about 55 minutes from Brisbane Airport travelling north on the Bruce Highway
The nearest villages are Montville (about 3.5 km) and Palmwoods (about 5km) and nearest towns are Maleny, Nambour and Maroochydore
DIRECTIONS FROM MONTVILLE
Please note some satellite navigation systems will direct you along the Palmwoods-Montville Road from Montville rather than onto Razorback Road
Whilst the Palmwoods-Montville Road is a very scenic drive, this is a much longer route than taking Razorback Road from Montville direct to Hunchy!
So, right in the centre of Montville and right beside Montville State School on Main Street & opposite the restaurant Wild Rocket at Misty’s, look carefully for the small sign for HUNCHY
Turn off Montville Main Street and after a few metres turn immediately left onto Razorback Road passing underneath the wooden footbridge
After about a kilometre of quite steep descent, look out for the sign for Hunchy Road and a signposted left turn
At the intersection turn left onto Hunchy Road where The Country House B&B sign is pointing
Continue for about 3km
The last kilometre is a well maintained compacted road base surface which is narrow in places. Don’t worry it is very safe for all cars and you are nearly there!
The Country House at Hunchy is number 813 Hunchy Road – signed on your right – the address numbers are not consecutive, they are distance related
Please note that some satellite navigation systems will wrongly tell you that you have reached your destination before you see our front sign and the street number 813!
So please watch for The Country House at Hunchy sign and number 813 before turning into a gateway!
Turn right into the driveway by the sign and number 813 and there is undercover parking for The Rainforest Suite and The Bottlebrush Suite
The height limit for car port access is 2 metres – if your car is higher just park in front of the park allocated to your Suite
DIRECTIONS FROM THE BRUCE HIGHWAY NORTHBOUND
From the Bruce Highway travelling Northbound, just after the Forest Glen turn off, take the exit signed as Nambour Connection Road and Maroochydore Road and head towards Nambour
After passing the famous Big Pineapple which will be on your right, take the exit sliproad left towards Palmwoods on the Woombye/Palmwoods Road
When you reach Palmwoods, drive through the small village centre following the main road which turns sharp left after passing under a railway bridge
If you haven’t heard of it before look out for the famous Rick’s Garage Diner on your right as you drive through Palmwoods!
Drive past Palmwoods State School on your left. This is now the Palmwoods Montville Road
As you leave Palmwoods over Paynter Creek ignore the Montville directional arrow and look out for Hunchy Road signposted to your right
Turn right onto Hunchy Road and drive for approximately 5 klms
Watch to see if the Fresh Pineapples roadside stall is open – the colourful umbrella is a clue!
Not far after the Fresh Pineapples stall, watch out for the start of Razorback Road
This is where Hunchy Road continues but is a right turn
Follow The Country House B&B sign pointing to the right
Continue along Hunchy Road for about 3 klms
