At The Country House at Hunchy, we take great care in selecting where our food comes from. We strive to use locally grown fruits and vegetables, sourcing ingredients primarily from family-owned and operated suppliers across Southeast Queensland.

A delicious breakfast is included in your room rate. Dinner can be added to your stay by contacting us at least one week prior to your arrival, allowing us ample time to source the freshest ingredients for your meals.

To help us create the best possible dining experience, please let us know about any food sensitivities, allergies, or dislikes when you make your booking.

The Country House Breakfast

Our renowned breakfast is included in your Bed & Breakfast rate and thoughtfully crafted to offer something different each day of your stay. You can look forward to a delicious and varied start to every morning—see some sample menus below!

Breakfast is served in our Guest Dining Room at your choice of 8:00 am, 8:30 am, or 9:00 am.

Manhattan Dinner

$200 per couple

Starter: Caesar Salad – the ultimate New York salad with crunchy croutons, crisp lettuce and a thick garlicky dressing
Main: Beef Filet – organic local beef cooked to your liking

Served with Sautéed Mushrooms, Potato, and Seasonal Veggies
Crusty Bread & Butter
Dessert: Cheesecake with fresh local fruit
Cocktail: Cosmopolitan – informally, a “cosmo,” is a cocktail made with vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice, and freshly squeezed or sweetened lime juice.

New Orleans Dinner

$200 per couple

Starter: Caprese Salad – fresh tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and basil

Main: New Orleans Prawns – A beloved classic, New Orleans style prawns is bathed in a buttery sauce that’s kicked up with pepper, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and Creole seasoning.
Served with Mardi Gras Slaw and Crusty Bread & Butter
Dessert: Bananas Foster Bread Pudding
Cocktail: Hurricane – a classic New Orleans cocktail from the 1940’s made with light and dark rum, passion fruit syrup, orange juice, lime juice, and grenadine.

Chicago Dinner

$200 per couple

Starter: Mixed Green Salad – refreshing salad made with local organic produce

Main: Double Cut Stuffed Pork Chop – organic local pork chop filled with apple stuffing
Served with Roasted Mixed Potatoes, Seasonal Veggies, and Roll with Butter
Dessert: Apple Pie
Cocktail: Chicago Cocktail – a classic after-dinner drink made with a combination of brandy, champagne, Angostura bitters, and triple sec.

Chesapeake Bay Dinner

$200 per couple

Starter: Veggie Galette – a savory tart with a flaky pastry crust filled with roasted vegetables

Main: Low Country Boil – Prawns, Sausage, Potatoes, Corn Cobbetts cooked with spices and lemon wedges. Served with Cheddar Bay Biscuits
Dessert: Fruit Cobbler – a delicious dessert that features a layer of fruit and sweet crust
Cocktail: Orange Crush – this refreshing cocktail made with vodka, orange juice, and soda has become one of the most famous Maryland Cocktails

San Francisco Dinner

$200 per couple

Starter: Prawn Cocktail – cool, plump prawns enveloped in a tangy tomato-based sauce with the zing of horseradish.

Main: Fresh Fish direct from the Mooloolaba Wharf
Served with Fresh Seasonal Veggies
Dessert: Banana Cream Tart – made with a sweet dough and filled with melted chocolate, vanilla pastry cream, banana slices and a drizzle of caramel sauce
Cocktail: Tequila Sunrise – a refreshing cocktail with tequila, orange juice, and grenadine syrup.

Beef Stroganoff

Hearty and delicious, this Beef Stroganoff has golden seared juicy beef strips smothered in an incredible sour cream mushroom gravy. Served over mashed potatoes with a fresh vegetable side.
